20h00 > Soirée inaugurale et festive de 2×2 avec la projection de À chacun sa ville !
Diaporama réalisé avec les photographies reçues suite à un appel à participation lancé sur le net. De nombreux photographes professionnels, ainsi que des amateurs ou amoureux de la photo y ont participé en choisissant leur meilleur cliché sur la ville, le thème de la biennale. Le montage, libre et anonyme, sera accompagné d’un concert live et suivi d’un pot de l’amitié.

19h > Café Photo # 1 : Quel marché pour quelle photographie ?
Projection du film Photo Souvenir de Paul Cohen : un documentaire sur Philippe Koudjina, jadis photographe vedette des nuits de Niamey
et aujourd’hui tombé injustement dans l’oubli. Photo souvenir offre également de nombreuses pistes de réflexion sur le marché de la photographie dite « africaine » en occident. A l’issue de la projection un débat sera animé par Erika Nimis et Harandane Dicko

19h > Café Photo # 2 : Esthétiser le social : tendances de la nouvelle photographie sud-africaine
Un débat animé par Christine Eyene : Au début des années 90, après s’être imposée dans le genre documentaire, la photographie sud-africaine expérimente son champ esthétique. Aujourd’hui pourtant, on constate que l’intérêt pour les questions de société affectant ce pays sont toujours d’actualité. Centrées sur des thèmes aussi divers que les inégalités sociales, le SIDA, l’homosexualité, la jeunesse, elles sont restituées par le biais d’un nouvel esthétisme photographique.

22h > Retour sur Nouvelles africaines
(Fin 2006, 68 photographes africains ont exposé leur travaux dans les rues du 20ème arrondissement de Paris) avec la projection du montage réalisé avec les images issues de l’exposition.

A playful and anonymous slideshow of images by amateur and confirmed
photographers who contributed their best picture of the city of
their choice, to coincide with the theme of the Bamako Biennale:
« In the City and Beyond ».
The show will be accompanied with a live concert by Malian band
Barou Balani.

2006, 54 min): documentary on the once celebrated Niger photographer
Philippe Koudjina, who photographed Niamey by night.
Photo souvenir allows a reflexion on African photography within
Western art market and will be followed by a debate with Erika
Nimis, historian of photography and Malian photographer Harandane
Dicko.
